iPads, iPhones, and other devices are working without any such issue. Wondering how Crome can work without setting manually the DNS and that too in my home network only. Have observed the same on 2 different MacBooks in my home network, wherein it works in the office network without any issue and using the same DNS Servers ip which is used as default network configuration. Tried reseting, safari, network plist, cleared dns cache but this the same issue. As a work around, I go and update manually every time the DNS entry with google server IP -> 8.8.8.8, then everything works fine. Also for my surprise, only not able to resolve & Ping an public FQDN address through terminal, Safari not browsing, VPNs not connecting, however, Crome works perfectly fine. Strange DNS/Internet issue faced on MacBook After the latest upgrade of MACOS have a typical issue faced only at home location, that DNS is not working though there are DNS server IPS available on the network configuration. What ever it is, it eventually fixes itself. The DNS IP address is correct - it's the same one my iMac uses. I can't enter any text in those fields - only hex values are allowed? Then go to the DNS tab and add OpenDNS or GoogleDNS. When I looked up the information attached to the error report, is says to go to the WiFI Preference and Advanced option. So, I'm convinced there is something else going on with my Mac Pro.Īll my other devices, an iMac and Mac Book all work normally - never have this problem. I checked with my iMac and it has the same DNS settings and never has a hang or network problem? I ran Network Diagnostics and it reported "DNS Resolution Failure" (below).īut, after about 5 minutes, the computer seems to figure it out and runs normally. ![]() I can text and use email, but my browsers won't budge (Safari, Firefox and Chrome). I only use WiFi to a Google Mesh Router, which is new (Google Fiber). My Mac Pro is failing to connect to the internet.
